Germany
In Germany in the past, it was necessary to register the fact that you had a bull bar or nudge bar in your registration papers, and to get the registration you needed and ABE (Allgemainebetriebserlaubnis) which the manufacturer had to get from the TuV in order for it to be allowed to be fitted. The ABE would only check for sharp corners and stable fitment to the vehicle. Since may 25th 2007 and 2005/66/EC, the TuV will no longer issue an ABE for any new FPS. Also, any ABE for an FPS which is not yet fitted to a vehicle is invalid and no additions to the registration papers since the 25th may date are allowed for an FPS without EU type approval.
However, if you have an FPS which has a type approval number, you can fit it to your vehicle without needing to have the TuV check it, or presenting the ABE. You just need to enter the type approval number to have it added to the paperwork.
Every 2 years, you have to take your vehicle to TuV for it's MoT, and if there is an FPS on it, it must be in your paper work. If not it must be removed. To get it in your paper work you must have the EU type approval.
Deutschland
In Deutschland, wenn das FPS hat einem typengenehmigungsnummer, man braucht einem ABE nicht, und muß auchnicht das Fahrzeug bei TüV überprüfenlassen um die eintragung zu bekommen. Einfach nur das tzpengenehmigungsnummer in paiere eintragen lassen.
Bei 2 Jährliche TuV Prüfung, muß in Fahrzeugpapiere das FPS eingetragen sein, wenn nicht muß es abgebaut werden. Um dei eintragung zu bekommen, muß das EG Tzpengenehmigung vorhandern sein.
